The khoma village in Lhuntse is home to one of the most gorgeous textile patterns-the Kishu Thara. Usually consisting of intricate silk motifs of flowers, birds and animals in a variety of colors on a white background. Kishu Thara are among the most labor-and skill-intensive and most expensive of all Bhutanese textiles, highly in demand for special occasions and weddings. The multitude of colors are derived from natural pigments and minerals, and known for their vibrant beauty as well as durability.
