VILLAGE HIKING TOUR
Walk in the Footsteps of Bhutan’s Past
Follow historic sections of the Trans Bhutan Trail through mountain villages, forests, valleys, and centuries-old paths that once connected communities across the kingdom.
The Journey
Paths That Shaped a Kingdom
Long before modern roads connected Bhutan’s valleys, people travelled on foot along mountain paths that linked villages, monasteries, and communities. The Bhutan Ancient Trails Tour follows sections of the historic Trans Bhutan Trail, inviting you to experience these remarkable routes while discovering the landscapes and traditions that have shaped the kingdom.
Over 11 days, walk through peaceful forests, mountain meadows, traditional villages, and quiet valleys, with each section revealing a different side of Bhutan. Wander beneath flowering rhododendrons, cross scenic ridgelines, and pause to take in breathtaking Himalayan views.
Along the way, encounter sacred monasteries, historic landmarks, and welcoming local communities. Share moments of everyday life in rural villages and discover how Bhutan’s culture and spirituality remain closely connected to the land.
More than a hiking adventure, this journey is a walk through Bhutan’s living history—where every ancient path tells a story of people, faith, and the mountains they have called home for generations.
