After landing at Paro International Airport, meet your guide and drive to Thimphu. The road follows the Pa Chhu before climbing through the mountains towards Bhutan’s capital. On arrival in Thimphu, check in at Six Senses Thimphu, set on a hillside overlooking the valley and Buddha Dordenma. As you have just arrived, the rest of the day is free to relax and settle in. You can take a short walk around the property, enjoy the views, or simply rest after your journey. If you wish, a visit to Buddha Dordenma can also be arranged. In the evening, enjoy dinner at the property and relax before beginning your sightseeing the following day. Overnight: Six Senses Thimphu

After breakfast, set out with your guide to explore Thimphu. Visit Simply Bhutan to learn about everyday life and traditions, followed by the National Institute for Zorig Chusum, where traditional Bhutanese arts and crafts are taught. Continue to the Traditional Handmade Paper Factory to see how traditional Bhutanese paper is made. Later, take a walk through town and browse some of the local artisan shops. You can also visit the Memorial Chorten, where local residents gather for their daily kora, or circumambulation. In the late afternoon, visit Tashichho Dzong, an important landmark in Thimphu and the seat of Bhutan’s government and central monastic administration. Overnight: Six Senses Thimphu

After breakfast, depart Thimphu for Punakha, travelling through Dochula Pass. Take some time to walk among the 108 chortens and, on a clear day, enjoy views of the Himalayan mountains. Continue downhill through pine and rhododendron forests towards the warmer Punakha Valley. As you descend, the landscape changes to terraced rice fields, traditional villages, and rivers flowing through the valley. On arrival in Punakha, visit Chimi Lhakhang, a small village temple associated with Drukpa Kunley. Take a short walk through the nearby village and hear some of the local stories connected with him. The traditional houses along the way are decorated with colourful phallus paintings, a distinctive feature of the area. Continue to Six Senses Punakha and spend the remainder of the day at leisure. After breakfast, head into the Punakha Valley for a morning hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten. The trail passes through rice fields and small farm areas before reaching the temple, which sits above the valley with views across Punakha. After the hike, continue to Punakha Dzong, located where the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers meet. Explore the dzong with your guide and learn about its history and importance to Bhutan. Later, cross the Punakha Suspension Bridge and visit a traditional farmhouse to see how people live and work in the valley. Return to Six Senses Punakha in the afternoon. The rest of the day is free to relax at the property or enjoy the quiet surroundings. Overnight: Six Senses Punakha

After breakfast, leave Punakha and drive towards the peaceful Phobjikha Valley. The journey takes you through mountain roads and pine forests before opening into the wide valley of Gangtey. On arrival, visit Gangtey Goenpa, an important Nyingma monastery overlooking the valley. After lunch, take a gentle walk along the Gangtey Nature Trail, passing through pine forest and bamboo-covered areas with views across Phobjikha. During the black-necked crane season, you may have the opportunity to see these rare birds in the valley. Later, check in at Six Senses Gangtey and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. After breakfast, begin the drive from Gangtey towards Paro. Take a short stop at Chuzom, where three stupas represent Bhutanese, Tibetan, and Nepali architectural styles. Continue towards Paro and visit the National Museum, housed in the historic Ta Dzong, where you can see a collection of Bhutanese art, religious objects, and traditional artifacts. From the museum, continue to Rinpung Dzong and walk across the traditional Nyamai Zampa bridge before reaching Paro town. Later, check in at COMO Uma Paro and take some time to settle in. If you wish, you can try your hand at archery, Bhutan’s national sport, before spending the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Overnight: COMO Uma Paro

After breakfast, drive to the starting point of the hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery. The trail takes you through pine forests and up the mountainside, with views of the Paro Valley along the way. Spend some time at the monastery and learn about its history and connection with Guru Rinpoche. After the hike, return to Paro for lunch. On the way, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples, and spend some quiet time exploring its surroundings. Return to COMO Uma Paro in the afternoon and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight: COMO Uma Paro

After breakfast, drive to Paro International Airport for your departure flight. Our representative will accompany you to the airport and bid you farewell as you leave Bhutan.
